One of the responsibilities of NATA is to establish an effective mechanism to deal with various issues associated with alcohol and tobacco use in Sri Lanka. In this regard the NATA has taken the initiative in carrying out island wide programs, which includes educating relevant law enforcement authorities on recent development of laws relating to alcohol and tobacco. Since Public Health Inspectors (PHI) play a pivotal role in implementing the NATA Act, it is our sincere view that organizing a colloquium for the PHIs is likely to help them to implement the NATA Act, comprehensively and effectively.

The workshops among Public Health Officers in North Central Province was held from 15th and 16th March, 2016 at Provincial Director of Health Service Offices, Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa.
