National Authority on Tobacco & Alcohol (NATA) organized a workshop for trainee Public Health Inspectors (PHI) in provincial health training center, Batticaloa on 10th February 2020 with the collaboration of Ministry of Health. 

NATA staff and resource team were warmly welcomed by the Deputy Provincial Director of Health Services Dr. A. Lathaharan and Dr. A. Srisankar, Medical Officer in Charge, PHTC, Batticaloa. The session about importance of Tobacco & Alcohol prevention and functions of NATA and  importance of community enrollment of tobacco & alcohol  was conducted by Mr. Bimsara Malshan (Research Officer - NATA) . The following session was conducted by Mr. N.A. Jayathissa (former principle public health inspector) regarding key factors of NATA act. The session of "10 steps to build tobacco free zone and importance about drug prevention" was conducted by Mr. Upul Rohana (Chairman- PHI, Trade Union).
